The term “boog” has been used for decades now to refer to dancing. The current origins come from boogaloo, which is a wildly popular freestyle street dance that includes popping and locking. When he’s not helping the Cleveland Cavaliers work their way up the Eastern Conference standings, young point guard Darius Garland is often found dancing in a fun setting. Hence his nickname “Boog,” bestowed upon him thanks to his skillset in the boogaloo movement. As an-up-and-coming star in the NBA, Garland uses his body to drive to the basket and either finish himself or provide easy scoring opportunities for his teammates. On the other end of the floor, he uses superior body movement to oftentimes defend the opposing team’s best guard.
