Why Kyren Williams Is a Name Football Collectors Should Know

Kyren Williams didn't enter the NFL with the hype of a first-round draft pick. The Los Angeles Rams selected the former Notre Dame running back in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, No. 164 overall. Since then, he's developed into one of the most productive pieces of the Rams' offense.

And through the 2025 season, the numbers have become difficult to overlook.

Three Straight 1,000-Yard Seasons

Williams' breakout came in 2023, when he rushed for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games, averaging 5.0 yards per carry.

He followed that with an even bigger rushing total in 2024:

2024: 1,299 rushing yards | 14 rushing TDs
2025: 1,252 rushing yards | 10 rushing TDs

That's 3,695 rushing yards and 36 rushing touchdowns over three seasons.

In 2025, Williams also became more efficient than he had been the year before, averaging 4.8 yards per carry, compared with 4.1 in 2024. He added 36 receptions for 281 yards and three receiving touchdowns, giving him 1,533 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns for the season.

More Than Just a One-Year Breakout

That's an important distinction when looking at Williams from a collector's perspective.

Plenty of NFL players have a breakout season. Williams has now followed his 2023 emergence with two more 1,000-yard rushing campaigns.

Through four NFL seasons, he has accumulated 3,834 rushing yards, 36 rushing touchdowns, 111 receptions, 745 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns.

He's also shown an ability to produce in the postseason. During the Rams' three-game playoff run following the 2025 regular season, Williams rushed for 183 yards and scored twice on the ground; he also caught two postseason touchdown passes.

From Fifth-Round Pick to a Major Part of the Rams Offense

Williams' path is another reason his career is worth following.

Los Angeles didn't spend an early draft pick on him. He arrived as a fifth-rounder out of Notre Dame in 2022 and carried the ball only 35 times as a rookie.

One year later, he was a 1,000-yard rusher.

By 2024, Williams handled 316 rushing attempts, producing 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns. And in 2025, he started all 17 regular-season games and led the Rams with 259 rushing attempts and 1,252 rushing yards.

That progression gives collectors something more meaningful than simply labeling him a “rising star.” There's already a multi-year NFL résumé behind the name.
