With all eyes focused on the 15-year old, #1 overall selection in the 2019 OHL Draft, Shane Wright lived up to all of the hype and more during his rookie season with the Kingston Frontenacs. Wright managed to tally up 66 total points in just 58 games while on his way towards shattering many Frontenac records such as the all-time rookie goals record held by Bernie Nicholls for over 40 years. Wright's 39 goals not only solidified him as the most dominant rookie in Kingston history but also helped catapult his team to a qualifying playoff record in the Eastern Conference after finishing dead last the season before drafting Wright. Despite continuing to display impressive dominance over his opponents on the ice, Wright's unprecedented maturity and leadership skills at such a young age are the intangibles that continue to drive him towards becoming hockey's next iconic star.
