The arrival of the Air Jordan shoe in 1984 signaled a shift in the way we looked at fashion and the overall culture of sport. More than three decades later, each new release of Air Jordans is not only popular and profitable, but it draws interest from potential buyers and sneaker heads worldwide.
This release, which came on Feb. 12, 2020, is called the New Beginnings Pack and comes with both Air Jordan 1 Retro High 1985 and Air Ship PE pairs. The Air Ship is the first Nike sneaker Jordan wore early in his rookie season when he signed to the brand in 1984, prior to wearing the Air Jordan 1s. He was infamously forbidden from wearing the original red and black colorway because it did not align with NBA standards at that time. This ultimately led to a $5,000 fine for each game. The Jordan 1 originally released from 1985 to 1986. This New Beginning pack 1985 Air Jordans is a version of the re-issue focusing on the most accurate materials, shape, dimensions, height, look and feel to completely mimic the originals. Since then quite a few colorways of the model were produced, as well as a few different variations.
This pack contains both pairs of shoes. Each of these pairs of shoes is autographed and comes boxed together. Please note: the shoebox comes in the original shape in which it arrived from the factory to Upper Deck. Jordan has autographed these Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High 1985 & Air Ship PE New Beginnings Pack shoes in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five-Step Process.
