Gary Player will go down as one of the most iconic golfers in the history of golf. Many different aspects of his legacy will forever be remembered by golfers. Most notably, he is one of five golfers to complete the career grand slam, winning each of the four majors. His very first major came in 1959 when he won the Open Championship at Muirfield. Player will also be known for his two famous nicknames, the Black Knight and Mr. Fitness. He earned the Black Knight nickname for the famous black outfits he wore on the course. Mr. Fitness came from his mindset to always work out. Player continuously stayed in great shape and broke many records for most appearances in tournaments thanks to his mindset to work out every day.
