Later on, on January 5th, McDavid would score his 500th career point in a 4-2 win against the Islanders. McDavid had an eye popping 153 points in the 82 games he played during the 2022-2023 season including a +/- rating of +22. At the all-star game McDavid again stood out, competing in the skills competition he would hit all of his targets in the accuracy challenge preliminary round in 9.497 seconds, 3 seconds faster than the second fastest time.
