In 2021, Collin Morikawa made his debut at the Open Championship and had a historical performance. On the final day, he shot a 66 to secure his victory at 15 under par. Morikawa won by two strokes over Jordan Speith. This victory was his second Major won and he became the first player since 1926 to win two majors in eight or fewer starts. He also joined an elite list as he joined four other players to win the Claret Jug on his debut appearance at The Open. Morikawa became the only individual to win two different majors on the first attempt.
