The 2023 Ryder Cup took place in Rome, Italy at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. The United States was looking to defeat Europe on their home turf for the first time since 1993. This was Morikawa's second Ryder's Cup appearance. His first appearance is one he will never forget as he made history with the 2021 team. They dominated the entire tournament and set a new scoring record, winning 19-9. Unfortunately for Morikawa, the 2023 Ryder Cup had a different result. Team Europe was able to sweep the first day and they never looked back, winning 16.5 to 11.5.
